The schools, health centers, roads, and other infrastructures built in our Zone are made possible by the taxes and duties faithfully paid by citizens and business owners. Therefore, preventing tax and economic crimes directly ensures that the public benefits from development. The Tax and Economic Crimes Work Process of the Wolaita Zone Justice Department works diligently to curb illegal economic activities and establish a healthy trading system.<br><strong>Focus Areas of the Work Process<\/strong><br>This division actively monitors crimes that have a significant impact on the Zone\u2019s economy:<br><ul><li>\nTax Evasion and Fraud: We investigate the use of fake invoices, under-reporting of income, and tax evasion to bring offenders to justice.<\/li><br>\n<li>Curbing Illegal Trade: We work in coordination with security agencies and revenue structures to stop illegal business activities and contraband distribution that disrupt healthy market competition.<\/li><br>\n<li>Resource Recovery: We ensure that public resources wasted due to economic crimes receive proper legal rulings so they can be redirected toward development.<\/li><\/ul>\n<br><strong>The Digital Advantage<\/strong><br>\nThe new &#8220;wolaitajustice.gov.et&#8221; website provides a new capacity for our economic crime prevention efforts.
