However, the mere existence of law is not enough; the law must be aware of the community&#8217;s reality, be clearly understood, and be trusted by the citizens. The Wolaita Zone Justice Department&#8217;s work process of law formulation, popularization, and awareness creation works diligently to ensure that legal procedures prevail in our zone and that citizens can distinguish their rights and duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Our work process serves as a source of information and a guiding beacon of light within the justice system, carrying out the following key functions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><ul><li> Law formulation and revision: We work professionally to draft and revise regulations and directives issued by the zone administration so that they do not contradict the country&#8217;s Constitution and federal laws, are clear, and uphold the public interest.<\/li><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><li> Legal education: Law should not be a secret known only to a few. Therefore, we provide legal education through various forums to women, youth, students, workers, and all residents of the zone to develop their legal consciousness.<\/li><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><li>Dissemination of laws: We strive to ensure that the principle &#8220;ignorance of the law does not excuse from penalty&#8221; is based on knowledge by disseminating newly issued proclamations, regulations, and directives to the public in writing, via radio, and through digital options.<\/li><\/p> <\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Benefit of Technology and the Website<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This new website, wolaitajustice.gov.et, is a new capability for our law popularization work. Through this platform:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><ul><li>Citizens can easily access and read new and existing laws, directives, and training documents from their homes.<\/li><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><li>It serves as a fast tool to promptly deliver new legal reforms in our country and zone to the public.<\/li><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><li>&nbsp;It facilitates digital communication where the public can ask questions about the interpretation of laws and receive answers.<\/li><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A citizen who knows their rights protects themselves from harm; a citizen who knows their duties stands up for the respect of others&#8217; rights.
